Distance Means Nothing
By Mackenzie M. When somebody that you love lives far away, You cannot help but hate the miles in between. The days without them feel dull, dismal and grey, Until you see them smiling on your computer screen. The tears that fall when you ache to hold them close, You hug your pillow tightly wishing it were them in its place. The few times you are together, you never presuppose, You treasure the warmth of their sweet embrace. It may be a long time until you can be together again, You are never prepared for the agony of saying goodbye. Know you’ll see them soon, whether by boat or by plane, And that one day, neither of you will have tears to cry. Because one day, the distance will no longer trouble you, It will be gone forever, leaving you with kisses long-overdue. |
Cycle of Life By Katie F. Out of the storms, The sun always emerges. Nothing good or bad is permanent- Never set in stone. That is both comforting and frightening, But that is the cycle of life. There can be no good without bad, And there can be no bad without good. |
